First Date Tips

Going out on a first date can be a very nerve racking experience for a lot of people. There are always a list of questions posted in your head such as what you should wear, where you should go, what you should talk about, and whether it will amount to anything. While chemistry will take care of the future of your possible relationship, there are some things that can help you prepare for your date to make a better impression. For example, you should always dress accordingly. If you are going to a nice restaurant, dress in a dressy casual way. Do not show up in jeans, but rather find a dress, a skirt, or, for men, khaki pants. You should also make sure to smell nice, but not so much smell that you drown your date in it. One to two sprays is enough to make you smell inviting; any more than that will most likely over power your date. Also, brushing your teeth ahead of time and maybe popping in a mint a few minutes before meeting can always heighten the chances of coming off as well groomed and taken care of. In addition to all of these physical attributes, there are a few things to look out for when actually talking to your date. Instead of talking about yourself the entire night, make sure to listen to your date. Most people love to talk about themselves but rarely remember to listen to the other person. Then, when you do give information about yourself, make sure not to overpower your date with a load of facts that they might not need to know right away. Leave a little mystery for the second and possibly third dates; if you give away all of your secrets in the beginning then there is nothing to look forward to later. At the closing of the date you should also leave a little mystery. Instead of inviting your date in or leaning in for a first kiss, wait a couple of dates and instead stick to the anticipation of what is coming next for you and your date.
